July 2005 Restoration--Factory Coming Back to Life
Workers are renovating what had been the Spaulding factory administration building. Part of that roof collapsed on May 11, but it did not cause any major problems because it was being fixed anyway.That building is slated to become the museum's welcome center. Read the complete article.

May 2005 Roof Collapse Cause for Concern

February 2005 ITM Project Awarded $500,000
in Federal enhancement grant dollars. The announcement by the Iowa Department of Transportation which administers the federal program for the state was made last week.
The dollars which will become available later this year are all earmarked for the restoration of the Administration Building located diagonally across from the Grinnell Public Safety Building at the corner of Sprint Street and First Avenue. ITM will now turn its attention on the small building--one which ITM Director John Swanson says is in the worst shape.
